UNDER THE BASHO 2022 (5 postku+2 haiku)

 UNDER THE BASHO 2022

autumn rain

.getting what
I walked into the room for.

 *

crushed moth footprint on the cheap hotel wall

 *

after the funeral
a bird
pecking at something i can't see

 *

“it’s not a race,” he tells me, and my stroke slows down
(in the distance a mascletá)

 *

jacaranda in bloom
three men circle-jerking in a room

*

clothesline shadow of an empty sock swaying, swaying

*

a statue to “Hope”
after the bird flies away
only shit remains

Our Garden: The Haiku Foundation Volunteers Anthology 2022

(Note: Uguisu is a Japanese bush warbler, often translated as nightingale because of the beauty of its song. It is a kigo for Spring and its song changes over the course of the season and is especially beautiful at the beginning of Spring.)

after the cremation
curry rice

the stack of trays:
thumb-cinema
for the bored waitress

under the bridge shine
clandestine eyes
lindy hopping

old sky
buzzard jumps
the sound of a dog
